Covid-19 Relief — Free private phone service for essential community workers

Please note that this limited time program ended Dec 31, 2021. Existing plans will continue but we are not offering new free plans at this time.

In short, we are offering our Unlisted phone numbers and service at no charge to teachers, social workers, healthcare professionals, and other essential community workers who are currently forced to use their own personal phone number to communicate with the public.

Unlisted numbers provide texting and calling (with voicemail) from our iOS and Android apps and the other party will only ever know your Unlisted number (not your real, personal phone number).

To signup, please download the app and start your free trial. Then send us an email at relief@unlistedapp.com and we will credit your account. The initial term is for three months of unlimited service, to be re-evaluated as things progress.

We are all adapting to our new situations, with the majority of us now working from home. Zoom calls, kids running around, grocery deliveries that are only available one week out...I, like many others, am just trying to make things work. But in the last few days, I realized that we at Unlisted could offer something more.

Simply put, many employees and community workers are now finding themselves away from office infrastructure (specifically their office phones), but still need to do their jobs.

A teacher calling students to check in, healthcare professionals adapting to telemedicine appointments, a banker processing small business loan applications from their couch, a social worker calling to process healthcare applications — with no alternative at hand, they are all calling from their personal cell phones.

The problem here is two-fold: 1) once your number is out there, you cannot take it back, 2) this destroys all efforts at work-life balance since you are immediately accessible 24/7.

The thing is, we built Unlisted to solve this exact problem!

Unlisted numbers provide a privacy shield that you can use to call and text like normal, but without revealing your real number. They are also fully configurable so you can mute them or send calls to voicemail at the end of the day. You can have multiple numbers so you can decide who has access to you and when.

I've been running my business from Unlisted as I built it from the ground up. Thousands use Unlisted every day to post publicly in online marketplaces, give out while dating, or to run their own businesses. Many users keep their numbers for a short time, while others have their private number long-term so that they can give them out more publicly.

In an effort to help our community, we are opening up free subscriptions to teachers, healthcare professionals, social workers, and our other most essential community workers. The initial term is for three months of free service, to be re-evaluated as things progress.

To get started on Android:

  1. Download Unlisted for Android. Tap here to go to the download page

  4. Once the credit is on your account, you can pick a number and start using it right away

Please note: This program is intended for essential community workers who need immediate access to a new number and who would be forced to pay for this service themselves. If you are a business or larger institution with funding, we ask that you please consider our paid service so that we, as a small business with no funding, can continue paying our own bills. Plans are $9.99/mo for unlimited service and we offer lower priced pay-as-you-go packages which are credit based. We can offer custom invoicing options and discounts for multiple lines — contact sales@unlistedapp.com and we will work with you to find a package that makes sense.

This is just our small part to contribute to those who are supporting us and our children every day. If you know anyone that would benefit from an Unlisted number, please share this with them.

Any question about this program? Send us an email at relief@unlistedapp.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
